Off Season Training Starts

After a few weeks off the bike to regain his lust for the sport, Peter is back in the game and ready to train through the winter. So much for hibernation!

 
Fizzled Out

Peter closes out this season with a cold, wet run for the state championship. What started out a cool and windy ride ended in a downpour that left more than a few riders' muscles cramped and shot. Peter was no exception, hitting the wall with only 15 miles left to ride.

 
French Broad Cycling Classic Woes

Despite several set backs throughout the day including a one hour delay due to traffic, Peter turned in a decent time in the French Broad TT. He followed it up with a strong finish in the RR, pulling back several minutes in the last lap to close the gap to the leaders.

HBW Team Training Ride a Success

Though the skies threatened rain all morning, the riders of HBW met at Caesar's Head State Park in Cleveland, SC to train in the mountains. The ride went well with no problems or mishaps. For pictures and profile info click here or visit the pictures tab.

Patriot's Trail Problems

After heavy thunderstorms all morning, Kay and about 30 other riders braved the spring classic road race in Rock Hill, SC. Kay was plagued with problems throughout the race from a broken bottle cage to a crash 40 miles from the finish line. Kay was not seriously injured in the crash, but he was unable to regroup with the peleton. He finished well behind the pack, but he finished none the less.

 
Harrell's Bicycle World Team Training Ride

The official USAC sanctioned HBW Team Training Ride has been scheduled for Sunday, May 13th. The riders will travel to Cleveland, SC to train in the mountains. After coursing through the foothills of the Carolinas, the team will attack Caesar's Head - the highest point in South Carolina. The ride will be fully supported with a rolling SAG wagon, and it's open to the public. To register simply contact Peter Kay.

Training Camp Cancelled

The Harrell's Bicycle World/Garmin training camp was cancelled due to bad weather. The team held out until the morning of Sunday the 18th, but seeing the snow covered, icey roads they decided to reschedule the event for later in the spring.

Peter Kay is gearing up for the upcoming winter training camp on February 18, 2007. HBW/Garmin's elite racers will be traveling to Brevard, NC to focus on mountain climbing. After coursing through the foothills of the Carolinas, the team will attack Caesar's Head - the highest point in South Carolina. HBW/Garmin will be preparing for the 2007 season on their new Scott CR1 Team bikes
